I don't know what I expected when I left California a year and a handful of months ago, but I don't think that I expected THIS...
It was a snowy weekday in Connecticut and I was struggling to keep my eyes open. 3 cups of coffee down. I was searching everywhere for a job opportunity. I was living a secret lifestyle though. Agent Bob was all over Craigslist looking for a band. I really needed some stability after arriving in a new world. After weeks of searching I landed a gig with this little band called, "Jennifer Hill & Company."
I just wrapped up a sever year run with my California band, Grampas Grass. I had many good times, drinks, and smoky days with these cats playing high and low all over Cali. I had confidence after watching our last gig online. I found JH&C on myspace after checking out the ad online. I wasn't sold, but I was impressed with the number of hits they had. There were ALOT of people checking these guys out. I figured what the hell.
It only took 2 weeks to hear back from them. I spoke to some guy who called himself Paul. After talking to him for about 2 minutes I pretty much knew that the guy didn't play an instrument worth shit. Whatever, whoever. I finally got a hold of Jen and we spoke for hours. She was a fiestly little chick who I could see had control of her musical life. We agreed to meet at Rockstar Studios in West Harford on Tuesday.
After erasing my plans of sitting on my ass and watching TV I made it to the studio. I met Jen and she was defintely different then I had pictured her. I saw some dorky pictures online and figured her to be different. The rehearsal went well and that was that.
Who would have thought that a year and four months later that I would be marrying her. She is the best thing that has ever happened to me. She is my best friend. She motivates me to get more tattoo's because I don't want to be the underdog. Lets put it this way. If there is such thing as a soulmate, then I nailed it.
Jen.. I love you, baby!!
